Introducing SnowDB 2.0: Search through ALL major snowboard brands
by virtually ANY parameter

We're proud to open to the public a completely renovated version of our snowboard search engine, SnowDB 2.0, and that's why here's this traditional web2.0 shiny logo with that shiny green star!

With almost a year of research (sic!) and development, and the two-year experience and user feedback that we gained from running the first version, the all-new SnowDB 2.0 features the most wanted things that you (and we ourselves) asked for.

Gosh, a year of cold polar nights in Finland, hi-altitude fresh air mornings in Himalayas, mind-wrecking days in Moscow full with forest fires' smoke, hot humid afternoons in Indonesia with weird animal noises coming from the jungle – all spent smoking bamboo behind the damn computer!

The new cool features in brief:

  • Technologies included! All the features used by the manufacturer are here with illustrations and descriptions.
  • A new user-friendly search form. It is present on every page so you can modify your search in just two clicks.
  • All snowboard properties, like bend, convex, or base material are now searchable (before it was only numeric parameters). If you know exactly what you want your snowboard to be, SnowDB will let you find it.
  • Search results are now a grid of pictures that make it easy to see what your search request returned.
  • New convenient navigation through the search results on both the results pages and snowboard details page.
  • Possibility to search with English measurement system (along with metric).

So what is that SnowDB's got to help you get through the marketing clutter and find the only snowboard that suits you best?

The juiciest new thing is that with the new version we're including to our database almost all snowboard parameters and features from the manufacturers catalog, so now you can search by:

  • Bend – Rocker, camber, or zero camber, or some specific bend on your snowboard? Find what's on offer, no matter what manufacturer;
  • Shape – Directional, twin-tip, twin-directional, swallow tail, freeride-specific pintail, or maybe Lib Tech's Hammock? Find'em all;
  • Convex – Want a forgivable rounded base for jibbing, or just regular flat base? Find'em all;
  • Flex distribution – although this parameter is Burton-specific and isn't published by anyone else, you can find a snowboard with the flex distribution you want;
  • Base material – Sintered or extruded, or some non-traditional base material – they're all available for search;
  • Flex – Looking for a stiffer board or need a soft one? We've got a universal scale of stiffness so even though different manufacturers have different stiffness indexes, with SnowDB you still can compare them;
  • Price level – Sort out the manufacturer's top-quality snowboards, or find an inexpensive one, with no regard to the real price in currency units – the price level parameter gives you the possibility to evaluate the quality of the materials and workmanship used by the manufacturer on the snowboard you've just found;
  • Style – Freestyle-specific, all-round, freeride, jib, race snowboards all sorted;
  • Brand – Narrow you search to the brands you like;
  • Season – We keep the info for all the old collections, so once you need find more info on that last season snowboard your friend is selling, you're welcome on SnowDB;
  • Gender/Age – Men's and women's snowboards, grommet and kids-specific boards, separated;
  • Construction – Sandwich or cap construction – we've got that recorded, too.

The searchable numeric parameters that SnowDB had in the previous version are still there, and if you're looking for a specific waist or nose width or sidecut radius, you can use those in your search, too.

Another great thing with the SnowDB 2.0 is that you get full information on the technologies the way it is included in the manufacturers' catalogs, with descriptions and illustrations. On the particular technology page you will see a list of all the snowboards using that technology as well as the list of all the technologies from the given manufacturer for that season.

The search itself has been completely reworked. Now, the search form is present on every page, so if you need to refine your search results, you can do it right there without the need to return to the main page.

The search results are now displayed as a grid of images accompanied by some most important details letting you see your results instantly; and with the new navigation bars it's easier to move between pages. There's also a navigation bar added to the top of the snowboard page, so no tedious switching between the search results page and the snowboard page anymore.

The version that we're publishing now is still beta (it's ok if there's some minor bugs; if you find one, please report it) and there's a lot of features and improvements that we'll keep working on, like adding snowboard comparison and widening the choice of sellers, as well as putting up more new collections.

Have a nice search!
