QuickGrip Sidecut
One board: rides short… rides long. Innovative sidecut technology that steps up freestyle playfulness and freeride precision in the same deck. There's no substitute for shortness for jibbing and buttering; there's no substitute for length at speed or off big jumps. What goes in: 1. One mid-section sidecut that extends just outside the binding mounting areas. 2. One nose-section sidecut in the forebody of the board. 3. One tail-section sidecut in the aftbody of the board. 4. Mid-Board Contact Points are shaped transition zones, not "bumps", where the mid-section sidecut meets the nose-section and tail-section sidecuts. This defines the mid-section sidecut. 5. Mid-Board Contact Points are located just outside the binding mounting area. What comes out: 1. The mid-section sidecut delivers a short active sidecut at slow speeds that acts like a short board and creates quickness and high-maneuverability for playfulness and precision. 2. At slower speeds, the Mid-Board Contact Points are the ends of the effective running length and they shorten the active sidecut. 3. At higher speeds with the board flexed/loaded, the traditional contact points at the nose and tail are the ends of the effective running length and they lengthen the active sidecut. 4. When fully tipped up on edge and loaded, the radius of the board rides "long". When loaded, the arc of the circle that passes through the nose contact point, the mid-point of the board, and the tail contact point is similar to the radial sidecut on a board of similar length. The difference is the extra grip. 5. The Mid-Board Contact Points just outside the binding areas deliver added grip when you lay into a turn. Since the Mid-Board Contact Points are shaped transition zones, they are smoother through the arc of a turn and create less drag than simple "bumps". The result is a board that rides short or long, and provides extra grip, depending on how much you load into it.
